Zoo Trip

The Veterinary Technology students all went to the Albuquerque Zoo this past Thursday.  We got to tour the awesome clinic there, and then had the rest of the day to spend wandering the zoo.  Lee took the afternoon off and met me there after our class was "set free" after the clinic tour.

Lions, tigers, and bears:

Poor polar bears were bored and cage-crazy:




Primates:

Orangutans, my favorite primate!

Golden tamarins— yes they are primates too!

Komodo dragon (rahrr!)



A little crocodilian whose name escapes me:



Koala...AWWWW!


The "hoofstock": giraffes, zebras, and a little antelope whose name I can't remember:






Mexican gray wolves:


Big Mama Hippopotomus, who had a baby...I couldn't get a good photo of the baby though.


The largest rodent in the world...the capybara!


And a strange group of Homo sapiens:
