Mini Horses and the Kitchen Remodel

We had some miniature horses come into our classroom for a lab last week!  They were really well behaved, and were very patient with 16 students handling them.  Here they are with their "mom and dad."

They came in through the normal door.  The lady in the doorway is Dr. Snyder, our awesome professor and program director:

And here are some close-ups of the cuties!

And the kitchen remodel has begun!  Here's a photo of the mess:

That photo is looking into the old "dining area" after the dividing wall was removed (that's the wall and other sundry demolition materials piled up).  So far they have removed all the old cabinets, appliances, and plumbing; removed the divider wall; installed new electrical outlets to get it up to code; removed the electrical wiring that used to be in the divider wall; and framed in the bike closet.   The cabinets are supposed to get here this coming Wednesday, so we'll see if they get here on time.  I still have to pick a countertop and cabinet hardware.  After everything is done in the kitchen, Lee's dad is going to help us put in new flooring throughout the condo; wood laminate everywhere but the bathroom, which will be ceramic tile.  He also offered to remove my bath surround and tile the walls around the bath!  Such a nice, cool, helpful future-father-in-law.  Today he came over and filled in the "hole" that was left in the floor from the wall removal, and fixed my sticky front door.  We no longer have to body-slam the door to get it open!
